Objectives of COF
The key to having a large, exclusive Commerce and Finance talent pool for the future is seeking out, identifying young geniuses and providing them with a unique competitive platform where they can prove themselves. To further this cause COF endeavors to:
- Identify and nurture future CAs, Finance Analysts, Economists and IT talent at school level & college level.
- Encourage student participation in national Commerce and IT competitions, programmes and events.
- Instill a feeling of belonging to national and global commerce and role of (e) in Accounts & Finance fraternity.
- Infuse a healthy competitive spirit through reward based Contests and Olympiads.
- Bring about a transformation in the classroom approach to commerce and related technology to make it more interactive, practical and innovative.
- Share knowledge and information on the latest developments in Accounts & Finance and related technology.
- Providing new educational tools, special publications and expert advice to different schools, institutions & colleges in the areas of Finance & methodical research,
- Conducting workshops, interactive seminars and publication of informative study material for students is the main agenda of COF.
- Exposure to a variety of complex problems with a high level of analytical ability in the use of various concepts to inculcate higher order thinking skills.
- The Foundation aims at imparting training to the trainers so that they can be imparted with the practical knowledge related to the commerce field.
COF - Education Loan Scheme
The Finance sector is growing at the rate of above 30%. This sector would be needing at least 3,00,000 professionals in various ranks & profiles in the next three years. An acute shortage of skilled manpower is affecting banks, insurance companies, brokerages and fund houses these days. Banking and Insurance sector has been increasing its employee-strength by around 20 % every year. This industry currently employs about 3 million skilled manpower.
Understanding and realizing the gap between the growing needs of BFSI sector and the available professionals in this industry, COF in association with the Indian Government, has come forward to encourage all meritorious students to achieve their full potential and to help those who can not continue their studies due to financial difficulties.
To facilitate the means to provide education to the economically weaker sections of the society Commerce Olympiad Foundation is extending the education loan facility to the students and providing the opportunity to the weaker sections of the society to realize their dreams of pursuing further studies and become industry ready to improve their living standards with the jobs they will undertake in the future.
Working towards the establishment, COF has appointed ICFe – Institute of Computer and Finance Executives as its training partner which will impart skill based training to the students and also provide them 100% job placement. ICFe is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company, established since 2004. It operates in the growing Financial Sector and imparts employment oriented training in the fields of computerized Accounting, Banking, Insurance, Investment, Capital Market, and Spoken English & Personality Development with 100% placement assistance. With strong industry linkages it has placed 12,600 students in leading companies like HCL, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Standard Chartered, Citi Financial, ABN Amro, HLL, Grasim, Nestle, Hitachi etc

Benefits of COF – Education Loan Scheme
Realizing the needs and capacities of the students from economical weaker sections, the foundation has worked out a special education loan scheme wherein:
- COF will provide 50% of the course fee towards the applicable course fee
- The loan repayment process will commence after the course finishes or when the student gets placed.
- No interest is to be paid on the Loan amount
- No income proof documents are required. The student has to undergo an aptitude test which would help decide the Foundation to extend the loan or not.
Eligibility: Students who have appeared for 12th and above are eligible for this loan facility
Loan Application Procedure:
- Obtain COF Loan Education Application Form
- Pay the loan application fee Rs.500, which is refundable to students who do not clear the exam and will be adjusted towards the course fee for those who clear the exam
- Undergo COF Loan Eligibility Test
- Submit Below Poverty Line Certificate (Self Declaration)
